Prof. Alele Williams, the first female Vice-Chancellor of an African university and the first Nigerian woman to receive a doctorate degree, is the Vice-Chairman of the Board of NNF. A renowned professor of mathematics, Prof. Alele-Williams was a Vice-Chancellor of the University of Benin, had served as a member of the African Mathematical Union Commission on Women in Mathematics in Africa and as Vice President of the Third World Organization for Women in Science. Presently, she is actively involved in women empowerment and the development, in particular, education, of the girl-child in Nigeria.
