Dame Marie was born on the 3rd of June in Kumba, Cameroon. She has dual nationality in Cameroon and Nigeria. She obtained a Bachelor’s of Arts degree from the prestigious Obafemi Awolowo University and a Master’s degree from the University of Kent Canterbury. In addition to her academic background she acquired four International certificates from organizations such as AMP Templeton College Oxford, London Business School, IMD Lausanne and IHRDC Boston. She is one of the earliest few female executives in the Nigerian oil and gas industry. She is the chairman/lady of Anthony Fatayi-Williams Foundation (AFWF), the first Vice President of Nigeria Triathlon Union. She is an active member of over 3 decades of the National Council of Women Societies Nigeria (NCWS). National delegate to World Conference on Women Beijing. She was the President International Women’s Society (IWS) Nigeria. Also, an initiator IWS Skills Acquisition Centre, Lagos. Past Board Member International Council of Women, ICW, with HQ in Paris.
