Nigeria Foundation was engaged to implement the 2023 Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Project in two local government areas (LGAs) in Rivers State, following the successful implementation of the project in five local government areas in Lagos State in 2022. RBS is an intervention project that supports alcohol service staff at establishments like bars, restaurants, hotels, and liquor stores, in preventing sales to minors and reducing underage drinking, binge drinking, and drunk driving.
The RBS project was officially launched in Nigeria on 24th March 2022 at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Victoria Island. The project will be launched in Port Harcourt, Rivers State in July 2023 and implemented in Obio/Akpor and Port- Harcourt LGAs.
