New Nigeria Foundation (NNF) was contracted by the British American Tobacco Nigeria (BATN) Foundation, in partnership with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), to implement the sixth edition of the Farmers for the Future (F4F) project. The F4F is an Agricultural Entrepreneurship grant designed to support young people with viable agribusinesses with equity-free capital and other associated support they may require to scale their businesses. It is targeted at currently serving NYSC members as part of BATN Foundation’s commitment to youth engagement in sustainable agriculture.

Following a call for application in July 2025, NNF shortlisted the top 20 applicants from nearly 3,000 applications. These 20 selected applicants were the semifinalists who participated in a four-week virtual bootcamp from Monday, 11th August to Monday, 1st September 2025. NNF engaged agribusiness experts and seasoned business development consultants who covered 15 modules including Entrepreneurship, Business Model Canvas, Developing an Effective Digital Marketing Strategy, Tax Matters for Agribusinesses, Information Session on CAC, NAFDAC and SON registration and regulations for Agribusinesses, among others.

The 20 semifinalists participated in a video pitch competition which was graded to select 10 finalists. The 10 finalists participated in a live final pitch competition on Tuesday, 9th September 2025 and six winners emerged. The first prize was three-million-naira cash grant, the two second prizes were two-million-naira cash grant each and the three third prizes were one-million-naira cash grant each. The six winners will undergo a mentoring programme and will be provided with support to scale their businesses
