New Nigeria Foundation (NNF) undertook the regional baseline studies on strengthening the regional implementation of Voluntary Principles in Lagos State. The “Strengthening Regional Implementation of the Voluntary Principles in Nigeria” project is a collaborative initiative led by the Leadership Initiative for Transformation and Empowerment (LITE-Africa) in partnership with the Nigeria Working Group (NWG) and the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).

This initiative sought to bridge the gap between communities affected by security and human rights challenges and national-level policy discussions. The project involved a community awareness session, a 2-day methodology training, and regional baseline studies.

Emmanuella Adesipo represented the Foundation in Abuja on Tuesday, 30th of July 2024 at the 3rd Quarterly Nigerian Working Group (NWG) meeting on the presentation and review of report findings for the Strengthening Regional Implementation of Voluntary Principles in Nigeria (SHRIM) project. It also provided an opportunity for community members to share their concerns directly with NGOs and companies.
