New Nigeria Foundation (NNF) carried out an assessment of its operations and processes to appraise the performance of the Foundation. The Participatory Stakeholder Evaluation held between April and October, 2015. The goal was to identify what is working well in the Foundation and areas for improvement. The approach used was Appreciative Inquiry, which emphasizes learning from and appreciating what has worked well, and identifying areas for improvement.
Data collection was done through interviews, focus group discussions (FGDs) and self-administered questionnaires. A total of 138 persons participated in the evaluation including the Board of NNF, Management, staff, clients, partners, consultants, beneficiaries, service providers, and former members of staff. There were several levels of data analysis involving staff and stakeholders (at a data analysis workshop). NNF’s management also held series of meetings to deliberate on the findings, which resulted in certain key management decisions that have impacted on the operations and processes of the Foundation and have fed into the Foundation’s strategic plan for 2016 to 2020.
