New Nigeria Foundation (NNF) remains committed to promoting equality and supporting initiatives that empower women and girls. As part of this commitment, Akinyemi Akindiji, Programme Officer at NNF, participated in a Hands-On Workshop on Gender-Sensitive ICT Policy Advocacy held on Tuesday, 25th March 2025, at Mulligan Hotel, Yaba, Lagos.

The workshop was a highly interactive session that included hands-on exercises, team-based drafting sessions, and role-playing activities. These were designed to equip participants with practical tools and knowledge to effectively advocate for gender-inclusive ICT policies.

Through this engagement, NNF gained valuable insights intocontext-specific approaches to advancing gender equity in digital policy spaces. By participating in collaborative planning and experiential learning, NNF deepened its understanding of the systemic barriers limiting women’s access to and participation in the digital ecosystem.

NNF will apply the knowledge gained to enhance its gender advocacy efforts by integrating inclusive policy principles into its community development initiatives and public-private partnerships. This includes ensuring that ICT-related interventions are equitable, sustainable, and responsive to the needs of women and girls, especially at the grassroots level.
