Busola has over
twenty years’ experience in journalism and development. She holds a Bachelor
and Master’s degree in History from the University of Lagos and a Diploma in
Journalism from the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ), Lagos. Busola, at
various times in her career, has held Media, Advertising and Marketing roles.
Since she ventured into the development field, she has participated in national
and international conferences on gender budgeting; participation of women in
politics/governance in Nigeria; gender mainstreaming; Millennium/Sustainable
Development Goals (MDGs/SDGs); violence against women; gender issues in the
Nigerian 1999 Constitution; right to education; child sexual abuse; community
development, etc.
She has attended various capacity building
programmes including the British Council training on gender mainstreaming,
budget and women development, media monitoring for democratic electoral
process, HIV/AIDS internet resources, science of HIV/AIDS, gender and
socio-economic rights, network strengthening, communication, advocacy,
facilitation, strategic planning, project management, etc. She enjoys watching Nigerian
movies, listening to music and traveling.
